Canada’s Express Entry (to be launched in 2015) will lead to a faster and more flexible immigration system. It is designed to help address Canada’s urgent economic and labour needs. Express Entry aims to make it much quicker for skilled foreign workers to gain permanent residence visas. It will be similar to Australia’s SkillSelect skilled immigration system.
Canada has set new caps, and is now accepting applications under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
If you want to apply under Canada’s Express Entry system, you must:
- Submit an “expression of interest” to the Canadian government.
- Provide a CV (résumé)
- Apply under one of these programs:
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program
- The Canadian Experience Class
- The Provincial Nominee Programs
Canada’s new cap of 25,000 applications, and the doubling of acceptable occupations, reflects their increased labour needs. Plus, Canada is also investing $14 million over two years, and $4.7 million per year going forward, to ensure the successful implementation of Express Entry.
This is all good news for skilled workers from Dubai or the UAE who want to immigrate and work in Canada! Contact Pathway Visas to learn more!
