If You Are a Skilled Worker, and Want to Live and Work In Australia, Consider One of These Two Visas.
Australia is a great place to live and work, and many people from Dubai and the UAE are happily immigrating there. However, to live and work permanently in Australia, you must have a valid Australian visa with work rights. Two of the most applied-for visas are Visa Subclass 189 (the Skilled Independent Visa), and Visa Subclass 190 (the Skilled Independent Visa).
Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189): You can obtain this visa if you are a points-tested skilled worker who is not sponsored by an employer, family member, or nominated by a state or territory government.
It allows you to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. However, you must be invited by the government of Australia, and have:
- Experience in an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list.
- Obtained a suitable skills assessment for that occupation
- Not yet turned 50 years of age.
- Achieved the score specified in your letter of invitation based on the factors in the points test.
- Competency in English.
Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190):
You may be eligible to apply for this visa if you were invited by the government of Australia, and also have:
- Experience in an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list.
- Obtained a suitable skills assessment for that occupation.
- Not yet turned 50 years of age.
- Achieved the score specified in your letter of invitation based on the factors in the points test.
- Competency in English
- Been nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency.
This is a lot of information to comprehend. Plus, there are specific forms and procedures for you to follow in order to be invited to apply by Australia. For assistance, contact Pathway Visas’ Australian Skilled Worker specialist.
